Horticultural Society hold a Lockdown ‘Spring Show’

Each year, Southwater Horticultural Society holds a Spring Show at the Village Hall on Church Lane. Members and non-members alike bring along their entries to the show to exhibit and are judged by external judges.

The exhibits range from spring flowers, (of course), to cookery, adult and children’s crafts, beverages including country wines and liqueurs, and photography.

In 2020, as in so many other areas, our Spring Show had to be cancelled. But all was not lost! Traditionally, our photography competition entries are collected ahead of the show and sent to be judged externally so they are ready to display on Show day. This duly happened this year but then sat in limbo during lockdown.

As our photographers had gone to the trouble of entering their pictures and our judge had gone to the trouble of judging them all, we decided to exhibit them online instead.

The theme for the photos this year was “Colour Wheel” and the sub-classes were: “Red”, “Yellow”, “Green”, “Blue” and “Black & White”. We hope you enjoy the exhibits!
